Fun, Easy Cardio...At Home!

One thing most people who work out at home struggle with is finding a consistent means of cardio within the confines of their homes. I, too, struggled at first. There are minimal ways to get your heart rate up without leaving your living room.

If you're like me, walking or jogging in place gets boring after the first few minutes and let's be honest, it's just no fun!

Here's a spoiler alert: dancing makes for great cardio!

A fun, easy way to get your heart rate up while standing right in front of your television is by utilizing fitness videos online. My go-to for cardio is the Fitness Marshall.

Caleb Marshall, who leads the dance videos, provides simple dance routines to today's top hits that double as a fun time and a good workout.

Fitness Marshall videos typically include two backup dancers that will help you adjust the dances based on your level of skill. One dancer will be devoted to taking it up a notch and the other is there for beginners who need to take it slow.

And the best part about these workout videos - they only last the duration of one song. If you're just looking for a quick warmup, jam out to one or two songs before beginning your strength workout to get your blood pumping. Or, if you're looking for a full-fledged cardio workout, choose 6-10 songs to work up a sweat.

These quick 2-3 minute videos also serve as a great cool down after a workout. Work with the backup dancer who is taking it slow to bring your heart rate back down to normal.
